Thesis defense

Let me show you what I looked like after I had my thesis defense. I was with my friends at Mcdonald's to celebrate our triumph. I had nothing to think rather than failure, and  rejection. You cannot measure the fear that I felt when I was waiting for my turn. You cannot measure the anxiety I felt to get this nervousness over with. But you cannot also measure the happiness I felt after the panelists said "Congratulations". All those 6 months of preparing for our thesis study, all those caffeine's I took to stay up late, all those sleepless nights, all those extreme and excruciating studying all finally have paid off.

The question:

Overall, what is the contribution of this study to yourself?

My answer:

Besides the eye bags, the waste of money, the tiredness, and all the overwhelming feelings mixed up together, I must say this thesis study, without my expectations has tested 'true friendship'. I had a friend who acted different whilst the process of this study. I will not mention her name but everyone in my class have noticed. Her partner has felt hate towards her but before and after the thesis defense and presentation, I heard laughs, when I looked back, it was them laughing at each other and goofing around. I never felt more happier for the both of them.

This goes out to all my friends, classmates and schoolmates who did not sleep like the rest of us. We all did great and looking forward to wear a toga. This is for the new chapter of our lives.
